About Strandwijzer

Strandwijzer is the complete, independent guide to every beach club and beach pavilion on the Dutch coast, from Cadzand to Schiermonnikoog. Not a blog, but a data platform: opening hours, facilities, atmosphere, beer price and the current beach weather, all in one place, filterable and comparable.

Our mission

We want to be the reference guide that lets you find, at a glance, the beach club that suits you: today, in this weather, for this group. Independent and transparent: editorial results are never for sale, and whenever a listing is sponsored, that is clearly stated.

How we gather data

We carefully build the picture of each beach club from a combination of public information, our own editorial research and visitor input. Our editors check and enrich the data; we show photos and reviews with proper attribution.

Something not right, or missing information? Through an “Is this wrong?” report you help us keep the guide up to date. Such updates only count after an editorial check or several independent confirmations.

Strandbierindex

The Strandbierindex compares each year what a single beach beer costs along the coast. We record the price of the cheapest regular beer on the menu, excluding happy hour and speciality beers. That is exactly what you pay when you order a beer. Only prices that we (or our editors) have checked get the “verified” label and count towards the index.
